Home-Start Chichester and District is an early years charity which has provided invaluable support to families in the area since 2008; achieving positive outcomes and creating lasting opportunities for over a 1000 families and nearly 3000 children.
We recruit and train volunteers from the local community who are carefully matched with a family in need of support. Our volunteers are from all walks of life, each one is a parent, grandparent, carer or has experience working with children. They provide emotional and practical help to local families. Support is confidential, non-judgemental, flexible and totally responsive to the family’s needs.

Home-Start Chichester & District is affiliated to the national organisation, Home-Start UK, but we operate autonomously and are responsible for our own management and securing our own funding. We do not receive any government funding but rely on donations and grant fund applications.
The charity is run by a Board of Trustees, which is responsible for governance and setting the direction of the scheme, and there are 7 members of staff. A team of 30-40 trained volunteers visit families at home and help support parents at the Family Groups.
